This is a process diagram describing the steps that imaginary workers in a fictional bank perform in order to decide whether or not that want to lend mortgage money on a piece of property.

One of the steps in this process, Evaluate Application in the main process flow, was complex enough that it became a subprocess within the overall mortgage process.

Here is another process diagram. This one traces the steps a delivery service might take to deliver a parcel. Two of the three steps -- Accept a Package From a Customer and Deliver the Package -- are complex enough that they became subprocesses.
