Java Syntax (Using VisualAge for Java) You learn the basic syntax of the language using IBM’s VisualAge for Java. This tool is very popular in a few Fortune 50 corporations.  The full blown (Enterprise Edition) of this tool costs well over $2,000, but there is a scalled down version (Professional Edition) that can be had for less than $100.

Java Syntax (BYO) You can also learn Java on your own computer using the development environment of your choice.
