You are responsible for:

Providing your own equipment

Installing the correct software

Any difficulties that arise

Hardware

		Any computer that runs Windows98 or later
		Any Apple that runs OS X (10.1)
		Most Sun computers
		Any RedHat Linux 7.0 or higher
		At least 128 meg of RAM (256 is nicer)
		You will need 200 or 300 meg of hard disk space for JDK, IDE and class exercises

Java Development Kit and IDE

Download Forte for Java Community Edition version 3 or higher. Download JDK version 1.4 (that’s a beta JDK) Both are free. You can get both in one 70 megabyte download if you wish.
